Featured Acts
The average Sunday night is split into two parts, the “open” part of the night runs from 8pm for 45 minutes to an hour. There is then a short break of ten to fifteen minutes, and finally there is a featured act who will play for 45 minutes to an hour.

How are the featured acts selected?
The level of talent on the Edinburgh acoustic scene is unusually high, and a great deal of thought goes into selecting quality featured acts. In the vast majority of cases the featured act will be someone who has appeared several times already at The Listening Room to play an open slot, and has been well received by the audience.
On rare occasions we may pick someone who has never played at The Listening Room, but has really impressed us playing at another venue.
On even rarer occasions we may give a headline slot to someone who’s never played at The Listening Room before if they have proactively contacted us because they are visiting Edinburgh from afar for a short period of time, and we are particularly impressed by their demo.
If you’d like to be considered for a featured act slot, contact us. It can be helpful to send us a demo, particularly if you haven’t played at The Listening Room often or at all before. Online demos (e.g. a Myspace page) are generally the easiest for everyone involved, but if you need to post us a CD please let us know.
