About Us
The Listening Room is an open mike that runs every Sunday at The Blue Blazer pub in Edinburgh. Unusually for an open mike, there is no mike. Nor are there amps, speakers, mixing desks or indeed any form of musical technogadgetery whojummywatsits. The Listening Room is 100% acoustic.
It has a cool, friendly atmosphere where performers are asked to play for an attentive audience (covers permitted, but original material preferred). It’s perfect for solo performers or small unplugged bands wanting to try out a new song or for people who want to come and relax and listen to some great original music.
The proceedings kick off at 8pm with an hour of open slots, a wee break, and a 45-minute set by a headline act. It’s a very popular evening and of course it’s absolutely free.
